I'm a high schooler who runs cross-country and track. I run around 8 miles a day and was wondering if there is any specific way you are supposed to breathe? While running I breathe in through my mouth and out through my mouth. Thx for the help

  1. yes i agree my dad told me to breath in through my nose and out through my mouth.. you dont get so tired easily and it keeps you from getting cramps!! hope i helped :)

  2. i breath in with my nose and breath out with my nose kinnda weird dont you think.

  3. in running you breathe in your nose and out your mouth

    while swimming is the opposite.

  4. Breathing in through your nose and out your mouth is definitely recommended, but some very good runners breathe in through both their mouth and nose and breathe out their mouth. They do this to take in more oxygen using less energy. Hope this helps.

  5. Ideally you should inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth as this improves the supply of oxygen to your muscles. I understand though that 5 miles into a run with your heartbeat pounding, this is easier said than done.

Always try to inhale through your nose whenever possible and don't forget to exhale fully.

  6. i play soccer and i have to breate through my nose and out my mouth including in winter

  7. while running everybody has theier own way of breathing, you should try breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth. take in all the oxygen and push out all that bad stuff.

    good luck  =]
