It has always baffled me as how few Britishers able to Rule huge India+Pakistan that too for centuries.

Among others, it is due to Britishers ability to have a “Disciplined” Police Force and stringent and somewhat arbitrary Laws enough to nail a freedom fighter.

After the First war of Independence in 1857, the Britishers immediately enacted Criminal Laws to restrict freedom and liberty of Indians.

It is the Indian Poilce who have Lathi charged and tortured their own Countrymen freedom fighters.

So, does it means that while One in Police Uniform loses ability to think. It is not so, perhaps.

What we see in our post Independence era is precisely the same.

What we see in our post Independence era is precisely the same.

{With this repetition I am emphasizing on my point.}

If we ever want, to make our Governance accountable to the Governed, to bring democracy in reality, to contain corruption, the People and the Police must interact.

  1. People must understand the roles of the Policemen and vice versa.

  2. Police and Civilians naturally come together. Under the weight of a club, fist, or butt of a shotgun.

    So long as it is impossible to file a complaint against an officer, have one fired WITHOUT paid vacation, or have one arrested, civililians are second class.
