How to Buy Live Ants?

I bought an ant habitat for my friend's son for his bithday. But, unfortunately, it didn't come with any ants! The only thing it came with is a habitat and soil. Where do I buy the ants for it? What do ants eat? How do we give them water? Is there something we can put the water in or on so we don't drown the ants? Is there any place that we can purchase ants, or do we have to get them out of the garden? If so, how do we go about doing this?

It should have come with an instruction sheet. You fill it with the soil and drip some water on it. The ants will find the water in the soil. You can't buy ants for them you must collect them yourself.
