Question:

How to Catch a Wild Quaker Parrot?

There is a small group (about 4-5) Quaker Parrots living in our neighborhood. We think they might have been released by an owner or breeder who got tired of them. I've never seen a nest, so I doubt they are breeding yet. Although, I'm afraid they are going to start breeding and I don't think this would be a good idea. The reason it bothers me is because they are not native to Texas, and I'm afraid that the babies, as well as the adults, may become prey to cats or disease. I know trapping wild parrots is illegal, and I would NEVER do this. But, I'm sure these birds were at one time domesticated. I tried to catch one with a net, but it was easily able to get away. Any ideas on how I can catch these birds or what I can do about them?
