How to Create Local Disc (D:)?

I have my computer and has only one Local Disc (C:) currently on it. How do I create another Local Disc on my PC?

  1. If you want it to be another logical drive on the same physical one, you can go to:

    Start > right-click 'My Computer' > Manage > Disk Manager

    Then you can resize the hard drive, or you should be able to, but ONLY RESIZE AS MUCH FREE SPACE AS YOU HAVE ON THE EXISTING ONE!!!

    If you over-format, YOU WILL LOSE DATA!

    Better option, add another hard drive, and then go back to Disc Management, and then you'll have to format it to NTFS to use it.


  2. You can either physically instal another hard drive, or partition your existing drive into 2 smaller ones

  3. u will have to format ur whole computer and all ur data will b lost for that

  4. add another hard disk and make it a slave (settings to make it slave please refer to the drive instructions) or you can do partition your local hard disk.

  5. to create another you would have to format and partition the drive and that can only be done if you install your operating system again and while you are installing it gives you the option to create partitions for you drive into primary , logical and extended. you would loose all data
