How to EASILY and CONFIDENTLY talk to a doctor about depression?

Lately ive been seeming rather depressed but am not sure what it is exactly and my girlfriend is coping but wants me to go to a doctor in the next 2-3 days, i have agreed as having depressed symptoms are not fun for me or anyone else, only thing is im not hugely confident when it comes to these things but my girlfriend has told me she will come with me

so in short talk: Im Just wondering if anyone has a few quick tips to make me a little more confident about talking to a doctor.

  1. Doctors are problem-solvers.  You go to them with the problem, not the solution.  Tell your doctor some things are bothering you, and explain to her that you think it might be depression.  She will ask expert questions, and work through with you whether that's the case or not.

    You don't need to be confident about whether or not you are depressed -- that is your doctor's job!  Talking about it to a professional will help you understand what is happening, and will allow you to take action.

    Print out the results and take it to the doctor's visit with you.

    That way, you won't have to waste a lot of your time, nor the doctor's time, in trying to explain why your girlfriend believes you need to see the doctor.

    This quiz will determine who is right about the situation, and it will help the doctor determine if you need medication or perhaps lifestyle changes.
