How to Extend Wires for a Speaker?

well i have 5 speaker wear and the cords or wires are short and i wanted to put the speakers at the corners of my room, What do i ask radioshack? what do i need?

  1. You can use wire nuts to attach another length of cable, but it needs to be of the same gauge. I've noticed a bit of loss in signal when extending cables, however, so I really encourage you to run new speaker wire if its possible.


  2. best thing to do is bring one of the wires or speakers to radio shack

  3. Go to wal mart and get a spool of speaker wire.  You just need to seperate the ends of the - & + on the speaker and strip them. Next strip the wire you need from the spool and twist the matching ends together. Next wrap electrical tape around each twisted wire and your done.  Just repeat this 4 more times and your done.

    In all you need:

    Spool of wire

    electrical tape

    and a staple gun if you want to secure the wire
