Question:

How to Fix a Golf Slice?

Statistics say around 80 percent of all golfers fight the dreaded slice. Few feelings in golf are worse than solidly hitting the golf ball yet watching it take a big right turn for the woods or the lake.

  1. I think I've answered this question about a slice a million times.

    Have a good one...

  2. Michael, check out the lesson below in YouTube.

This will give you the actual explanation instead of me telling you in text format. Good luck and keep it on the fairway.

  3. The recipe for curing a slice has 2 ingredients.  They are.....Lessons from a teaching pro and practice.....There is no other ingredient that will work effectively.

  4. Byron Nelson (legendary golfer) stated that only 2 things cause a slice; an open club face at impact or cutting across the ball or both. Knowing these 2 things helped me correct my slice. Sure a teacher can help you quicker but you can fix it yourself. If it"s an open club then you are not releasing the club; you"re holding on. If it"s your swing path then come at it more to the inside; I always try to remember to swing with my arms close to my body. Again I'm not a pro but you CAN fix things in your golf game by reading andd studying from the pros.

  5. 2 parts bourbon (or better, rye)

    1 Slice (orange flavor)

    2 dashes Angostura bitters

    1 Top Flight Golf ball

    1/2 Divot

1 dollop of the juice from your cherries (the best are the Italian candied cherries, but you can use standard maraschino cherries, too)

Put all of the ingredients in a blender with ice until ball is dissolved. Serve up in chilled martini glasses and garnish with a cherry

  6. i worked it out , after picking up the game again this year... i was driving about 240 straight and another 40 to the right.... how i cured mine was hitting a bucket of balls three times a week for 2 months, until i learned how to hook the ball... swinging slowly and just tryin to hook it... this is what i came up with and now i am driving about 285 straight, and i still cant believe it... i grip the club with my left hand rotated inward just a bit.... and using an overlapping grip i pinch the grip with my right hand using my thumb and index finger... assuming your backswing is on plane, and your left arm is hugging your body as you approach the ball (which is what i was doing) i swing with my left arm, and my right hand(by pinching the grip) is used to push the club head  out towards the ball.... it is an amazing feeling to see the ball go out, and not make that right turn after 200 yards... i have hit a few well over 300, but when i try to do that, 9 out of 10 times it doesnt turn out well for me... get out to the driving and try to learn to hook the ball, then realize that what you need to do is not hook or slice... keep playing with it, until you get it right, it is worth the time energy and frustration, to hit a wedge or 9 iron for your second shot... good luck, i found a few good videos on you tube, and tried all of the different things, until i found what worked for me, but i am still in the 85-95 range... good luck

  7. Go have a lesson with a golf pro, they will help a lot more than us.
