Hi All,

I will be in Paris this monday for 4-6 hours, arriving at 8.50AM in Paris and departing at 3.40PM to Copenhagen, can someone let me know what places other than Eiffel Tower that I will be able to visit in this time, I am not sure if I will be able to visit places other than Eiffel Tower, if yes what places?

Also what's the best way to get to Eiffel Tower from "Charles De Gaulle Intl Arpt" and to airport again?

Thanks

Ponnu

  1. Take the RER B marked Direction : Saint-Remy-les-Chevreuse to the Denfert-Rochereau station and change to Metro line 6 marked Direction:Charles de Gaulle-Etoile and exit at the Bir-Hakeim (Grenelle) station.

The trip should take about an hour each way.

You should give very serious consideration to whether the chance to catch a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower is worth the risk that this trip entails.

Consider that ideally travel time will consume two hours. Exiting the airport and passing thru customs control and immigratioon at this time of the year can take an hour. You must locate and get to the RER station at the airport which can easily take 30 minutes and then purchase a ticket. You must return to the airport with two hours to spare.

Add up those times and you can see that there is little leeway for error or the unexpected.

  2. Addition to Rilifane's excellent answer - there is always a long line if you want to actually go UP the tower.

There is much more to Paris than the Eiffel Tower, which in any case has was originally supposed to be temporary and has now only been there for just over 100 years.

I suggest you go to Notre Dame instead of the Tower.

It's a direct ride from the Charles de Gaulle airport.

Take RER and get out at St Michel, that's right in the centre of Paris.  Journey time about half an hour. Then the Notre Dame cathedral is right by one of the station exits. You can walk around the Notre Dame/St Michel area and get a bit of the atmosphere before taking the RER back to the airport.
