I am using a custom build PC with a ATI Saphiron 2600 HD video card which I am trying use my Samsung High def TV as a monitor. The TV itself has a TV jack that I can use to plug in my monitor's VGA cable... basically the same as a normal monitor.

When i hook it all up and turn it on the TV displays the initial Windows load bar then the TV says "mode not supported".

help please.

  1. The TV probably doesn't support the resolution the computer is currently set at.  Try setting your computer to 1365X768 if it's a 720p set or 1920X1080 if it's a 1080p set.  You'll probably have to set the resolution using another display since you cant see it on the TV.

  2. You may have to play around with the PC's monitor resolution settings - my guess would be they are set too high for the HDTV.

You can adjust them in "control panel" then "display" then "settings".
