You have various options . 1. Go to rail ticket counter at station or any other place in your city and book a ticket. 2. Call the travel agent he will deliver your ticket for a charge. 3. Book ticket online at www.irctc.co.in. Here you have option of getting ticket delivered to your address through courier or you can opt for e-ticket and you can take print out of this e-ticket on your printer.  But you must carry a valid ID proof like Driving License, Voter ID, Pan Card, Passport or ID issued by Centre of state govt. along with e-ticket while you travel. Railway charges small amount for booking online. But it is worth the ease of booking ticket at your home or office. In case you do not have a computer at your place, you can find agents appointed by Railways to issue e-tickets.

Log on to irctc.com u can book there by using SBI debit card or by credit cards, they will send the ticket by post or u will get the print out by e-ticket.., its the easiest way to book the ticket

Use www.irctc.co.in to book your ticket you can pay for it using your credit card , debit card and also through bank . But  if you cancel a ticket  the amount refunded will be as per their wish sometimes you will not be refunded at all.

E ticket can be booked 4hrs before the passenger chart is published and I tickets can be booked only 3days before the date of travel.

Go to nearest railway reservation office, find out the name and number of train and fare and get the application form from information counter. Fill up the application form and stand in que in any one of reservation counter and on your turn submit filled application form and fare to reseveration counter person and you get the ticket.
