How to I counter the passive-aggressive tactics diplomatically?
I work in an open environment where people always are jealous, have an ax to grind with you, and who are competitive.
The open atmosphere makes it difficult to concentrate or even to have some privacy. My "cubicle" mate is a talkative and passive-aggressive type who always spies and pounces on me when I'm in the depths of concentration. She acts desperate for help often too. (Help with the computer)
I've politely told her that I'm able to help her when I'm free, but she seems to NOT be interested in the least to learning how to do something; I feel like it's a tactic to get me distracted.
I know most people where I work are "mean-spirited" and VERY passive-aggressive (so they can keep their status and standing among the group; they don't want others, especially those who they think are "beneath" them). But, bottom-line, I need to find good ways to react better to this behavior.
So, how to I counter the passive-aggressive tactics diplomatically?
