How to I get a Credit card

I have a debit card. I am wondering is 16 years old too young to have a credit card?? And I always hear it is terrible to have a credit card because it rips you off. Also how does it work?

You can't get a credit card because you can't sign a contract - you have to be at least 18.

you have to be 18 in the state of california to have a credit card, other wise if you dont pay it they cant Collect you or send you to jail!

yes they wont give you one unless you have a co-signer.

Basically, you cant get a credit card until you have credit and you can't get credit until you have a credit card.... i know... screwed up but its true

Is not good to have a credit card if you are 16 years old. what you can do is tell your parents to include you in their account and give you a card. Is very important to pay on time. I assume you have a job right?

DO NOT GET A CREDIT CARD!  Please don't!  You are only 16 and you don't want to have to pay a bill every month.  If you don't have the money, don't spend it!!

yes! you are to young. what you can do is have your parents go and put money on a visa card and you can use it like a credit card but there will be a limit... ((however much you have them put on the card))

Credit cards work on the idea that you buy now and pay later , it sounds simple but if it was banks wouldn't make billions a year from people who use this product ,there is allot involved and I mean charges , things like interchange fees , bank charges , merchant charges and the list goes on all these fees are relatively small bur put together they can add up.You need to be aware of all these charges before thinking about getting a credit card and then you still have to be careful how you use it. You are 16 I think that just the right age to get into debt up to your neck because you aren't given enough info from banks but thats how they make money and thats how you lose it . end of the day be informed be responsible and credit cards can be a tool not a problem

Go to Target. Ask to sign up for a Red Card, get a ten percent discount store wide all day, and boom, you have credit.
