How to I get my teaching certification back in Ohio?

I was a teacher for a few years in Ohio, and I quit to start my own business. I was sure then that I wouldn't want to teach anymore, but now I feel like I want to again. Do you know how to go about renewing a license that expired a year ago?

  1. I am not sure about Ohio, but as it has only been a year since  your license lapsed it should not be too difficult to get y our license back on track.  Check with the Ohio state department of education (or whatever the state government calls that agency) - they likely have a website.  If necessary, look for a link on a national teacher education unions, such as the American Federation of Teachers, or even google something like "Ohio teacher union" and see where that leads.  Most likely you will  need to take some type of class or take a proficiency test to get it back on board, but only a single year's lapse shouldn't be too difficult.

    Good luck!

  2. You will have to check with the Ohio Dept. of Education
