How to I get myself in a regional newspaper?

Every month or so, Newspapers have a story of a school production, normally Doctor Who. My school is producing a Doctor Who story, so how would I go about getting a mention?

Apart from the normal things, like Media Releases, and phoning the Features Editor, you could try a stunt.

You could try something like assembling a model of the tardis just outside the newspaper office, and getting your DR Who dressed up inside it. Then you could offer interviews and photo shoot?

Or you could get a couple of people dressed as daleks to go in to the office, and demand coverage of their proposed take over of your town, starting at the place ypou're holding the show???

Ring them up and plead for them to cover your event.

Phone up your regional newspaper with a smile on your face

ask for the local news section and explain what you are doing

also ask, be a little bit cheeky, if a photographer would pop along to your rehearsal and take a couple of photos to be included as this normally works. The thing is its a local event for the local people who are the papers  customers
