How to I jump higher?

I play volleyball and am trying to jump higher! I need lots of help. Could you please state any leg exercises to tone up, my legs? Thx!

  1. just work on jumping, find a tree and pretend theres the winning lotto ticket on it and just try to jump and touch the branch your aiming for(a tall branch)

    strech alot

  2. First you do lifting. Do squats, toe/calf raises, lunges, hang cleans, and other basic leg strength exercises.

    Then once your legs are strong, you work to turn the strength into power by doing plyometrics. Do plyo exercises that involve jumping up and down off of boxes. Do exercises that involve short quick sprints. Do quick footwork patterns.

  3. roll up and down on your toes..it will strengthen your calfs

    and i know this sounds really weird but it works..if you life near the beach..go to the beach and dig a hole in the sand. Jump in and out of the hole for a while and it will really help you because not only are you jumping but its harder to jump in sand than on a hard wood floor.

  4. Ask your coach if you can put down mats when you're hitting in practice. The idea is to take your approach and jump on the mats. Overtime this will help increase your vertical, as well as help cushion the joints when you're practicing.

    This, however, is only one long term solution. Talk to a personal trainer about exercises you can do, and how to do them properly.

  6. Look into plyometrics! there are excersises you can find online for this. This is the best way to increase your verticle.

  7. Most people think working your calves is the way to go, but your hamstrings are more important.   It takes a lot of work to improve a little.

  9. ok In Volley ball Most of your Jump comes from your upper legs and Calves. Try some squats and some tose and Heals. What Me old coach got us to do is get our socks and Find a really high door way or something and just keep hitting the top of the door for like a minute then rest then back in Ect Ect.   10. do jump ups. This is how you do them get to the net or wall place your hands above your head and start jumping. you will get used to it afer a while. It helped me jump about 2inches higher. hope this helps

  11. i jumped up and down the steps and it increased my vertical by like two inches. my coach also let me borrow these really tough to walk in shoes that look like franken boots but they make you walk on your toe which stregthens your calves.  i also do wall sits to stregthen my thighs and calves, frog jumps, walk up hills on my toes and basic blocking drills they help alot too

  12. Find a stretch of road or a track or anything that u can run on, and put both of your feet together and (bunny hop) hop up and down using just your ankles until your calf muscles feel like they are getting a good workout, you can also find and object to jump over and jump back and forth over it everyday(increasing the height when needed) and you should train your legs to be able to jump higher and higher.
