My dad keeps going on to my computer cause he has an admin account on it.

But he's sooo annoying cause he looks at my stuff.

I'm not asking how to make the User account lock. I know that.

But how do I like lock the whole computer.

So when I press the power button it'll ask for my password.

Like before it can even get to that blue page with the users.

Any help?

  1. since he's the administrator there's almost nothing u can do because he'll just change the passwords again and again etc.., just get a computer. or one of u can be the guest and have Ur own settings with a password and when ever he tries to access Ur desktop he would have to put the password.

i mean, he needs to give u Ur privacy!!

(go to start/ control panel/ user account/ and well everything else should be self explanatory.

    Good Luck!

  2. Download lockbox if you want privacy to password protect your folders, but if your signed in as a guest you might not be able to download, you will have to ask your dad to download it for you from his account.

And please, please make note of the password somewhere.

  3. First of all make another account. If you have an administrator account just change his account to limited. In the process, it will ask you if you want your files and folders to be hidden - click YES.

  4. buy a vault and put your pc inside and lock it.

  5. There is an option that allows you to make it when the computer is turned on while it is in standby phase, it'll ask for a password,

Start Menu > Control Panel > Power Options > Advanced

and just go from there if it'll help..

  6. put bios password on it, or use window 2000 and make a guest account, make your data private guest can't touch admin data even he can't see also.

  7. There are two ways:

    Put In A BIOS Password:

    >> When your computer starts, press F2 or delete key, on the page where Energy Start is shown.

    >> Go into CMOS settings or just look around a bit in different sections and you'll see one for a password.

    >> Enter any password you like and press F10 to exit with Save.

    >> If it doesn't come try again and see what you're doing wrong.

    The System Key method:

    >> Open Run (Winkey+R)

    >> Type in syskey

    >> Click on Update.

    >> Select the Password Setup section and enter whichever password you prefer.

    >> Click OK and again OK.

Be careful and make sure that you remember your password.

EDIT - Preferably don't activate a syskey, as once you do so, there's no possible way to remove it except to format.

  8. Put a bios password. If it has already one, reset your bios and place a new password.
