How to Put Film on my own website?

I have bought a Sony HDD camcorder, and now would like to put movies on my website. I do not want to use YouTube, I want them to be hosted on my own site. What is the best, or easiest, way to do this?

I have professional web hoss already with LAMP set up etc.

Upload a compressed version of the file to your site (whatever directory you set up for uploads) and have an HTML link to it...

The file can be .mp4, ,mov or .avi for best compatibility...

If you are not wanting to do the "traditional" web sites because of the compression or size restrictions, check out vimeo.com. They allow much better resolution.
