  3. Lean forward, on the very front of your foot, not the toes, but the front. Make sure the sol/back doesn't touch the ground.

    The entire time running, propel yourself forward, but, do it quickly, don't spend time swaying your legs back and forth, propel very quickly like a machine gun, almost like you are stomping on something.

  4. Have a great pair of shoes (ones that absorb the shock help) also practice distances and then increase speed each time.  I notice if I have someone running with me or even if people are  outside when I run I run faster and wont give up.

    Also for more energy eat higher protein foods.

  5. Set goals and focus on achieving them - You must run untill your lungs burn - that's when your muscles get stronger. Drink lots of water in small swigs - not big chugs otherwise you'll vomit or feel like a peice of jelly.

    Comitment is the biggest factor: you must be out every day - rain or shine - regardless of your mood.

  6. Depends on what you mean by faster. To improve your raw speed over a short distance, you need to do interval training. For example, run (8) 400 meter intervals at 75% or greater so that you basically have nothing left at the end. Compliment that with shorter distance intervals and more repetitions. To improve your times on long runs, you need to continue to do the longer runs 3-4 days a week. Balanced training includes both, and the interval/long days should alternate.

  8. Train with your local high school team as an assistant coach. Its intense.

  10. Time yourself running the same course everyday and try to get faster and faster.  With practice your speed will increase.  Also, keep good body form and breath.  FOCUS is a big part too.
