How to Record Vocals on my computer? Heres what I have...?

I want to record vocals onto mp3 instrumentals on my computer. I have a Hp Pavillion with 256mb ram.

M-Audio Fast Track Usb

M-Audio Audio Buddy dual mic pre-amp

MXL 990 studio Condenser microphone.

As far as software I have m powered pro-tools but cant use it because it requires more ram than my computer has. All I want to do is record raw vocals! Someone please help me?? Can I use what I have? Or is there another program i could use? I also have fruity loops 8, and the original sonar, but if theres something else im open to it....

Audacity is a solid program.

Its really easy,open windows movie maker,plug in your mic,and click the little button above the timeline that is a picture of a microphone,then you can start recording,when you are finished save it to your computer.Then open up the program you use with your mp3 and plug in your mp3,then import it to your device.

try going to www.download.com and searching for an "audacity program" for recording sound. i used this to record my guitar...so it should work for vocals. it doesnt take much to run either.

just use your sound recorder if all you want is the bare minimum but with some additional ram you would do a whole lot better with the quality of your recording...

use fast trac thats wut i use

record audio with sound recorder in XP itself and then convert all these wav format to mp3 as per your choice of BW

or using musicmatch or jet audio player directly record mp3 audio
