  1. par is the regualtion shots you have on a hole, for example a par 4, you have 4 shots to complete the hole, if you sink the ball after 5 shots thats a bogie,

    if you finish the hole after shots thats a birdie,

    if you finish with 2 shots thats an eagle,

    and if you finish a hole in 1 shot, thats a hole in one,

    the points system in golf is called stableford rules

    par=2 pts

    bogie=1 pt

    birdie=3 pts

    eagle=4 pts

    hope this helped!

  2. hello Tamoy,

    One thing that you have to understand about the game is that on every hole you are allowed 2 putts.  Just to make sure this is when you are on the green and you putt the ball in the hole.

    So  with that in mind and knowing that you are allowed 2 putts on every hole it would be something like this

    A par 4 works like this, since you are allowed 2 shots for putting, you should be on the green in 2 shots and then 2 putts and you have a par 4.

    A par 3, you should be on the green in 1 shot, and 2 putts and you have a par 3 and so on.

    Now when you beat par or make worse than par that is when you come up with what you are asking, for example:

    On a par 3 you hit the ball on the green in one and you make 2 putt, you beat par and made a birdie, because you bettered par by one shot.  If you better par on a par 4 by one shot, say you are on that green in 2 and one putt, you make a birdie there too.

    A par 5 is where most eagles are made. You are supposed or allowed 3 shots to make it on the green on a par 5 and 2 putts and you have the par 5, but you knock it on in 2 shots and make 1 putt for a 3 on the par 5 that is what is called an eagle, you beat the par of the hole by 2 shots.  If you make a 2 on a par 4 by holing your approach shot to the green that is an eagle also, so beat par by 2 shots.

    Hole in one usually happen on a par 3, self explanatory you hole it out in one shot, this could also be considered an eagle also, since you beat par by 2 shots also.

    If you make worse than par by one shot that is a bogie.  Say on the par 3 you didn't get it on the green in one shot and it took you two shots and then you two putted for a 4 on the par 3, that would be a bogie, one shot higher than par.  If you go two shots higher than par that is a double bogie.

    Hope that helps you out a bit,

    Steve

  3. par is regulation shots for the hole example par five= five shots

    birdie is one shot less than par eample on a par 5 hole birdie would be 4

    eagle is two shots below par or example on par 5 would be 3

    hole in one = ace= one shot extremely tough to do on a par 5

  4. each hole has a par which is the number of shots you average to get it in the hole. a birdie means you got in in 3 strokes on a par 4 or 4 on a par 5. eagle is just one less stroke so uit would be 3 strokes on a par 5 and 2 on a par 4. birdies give you -1 and eagles give -2.

    Then there are bogeys which give +1 and double bogeys give +2

    the goal is to score negatives. not posotives
