I need help, could someone exlplain to me how you state the complement of an event such as "Score a multiple of three when a die is rolled."?

  1. The easiest way is to place a negation like "not" at the right place.

    "Not score a multiple of three when a die is rolled"

    However, if we assume that one of the sides come up and it's a normal 6-sided, 1-6 -labeled die, then we can also list the complement explicitly:

    A 1,2,4, or 5 is scored.
