I share the same IP with other clients of my LAN provider. One of them keeps downloading Gigs of file from rapidshare(.com not .de). And so, we, the rest can't download a thing. Is there any way to stop him(disconnect his download somehow without accessing his computer directly)?

  1. put a password on the network and not tell.

  2. I guess you could try to talk to him, if he dosent stop. Then you could always connect to his network.

  3. If you have access to the router for the network you could block him at the router level by blocking the website. You will not be accessing his machine. If you own the router or have permission to modify it then I would do this. If you own the machine he is using you can modify the Internet Explorer settings. If not hopefully you can use the router option.

  4. sadly, there is nothing you really can do.

Try downloading stuff through bittorent. Azureus is a good program....

edit: do you know who it is who's doing it?

  5. AD:

You can get that electronics from the site, or your custom item from Ebay or Amazon. You can get anything!

It's absolutely FREE. This is not a scam, I use the site myself for my own personal use. And they even have testimonials, So it's no joke! Just click and sign up if you like what you see !!

  6. Theres not really any way of doing this without accessing his computer directly.

Windows Vista has a feature built in that you can block users from accessing certain websites with, also IE7 has a built-in feature which will only let you access some websites by entering a password.

If you are running through a proxy server, you can block the website through the proxy server.

Or your last option is to download a free program from somewhere to stop access to rapidshare (but would have to be installed on his PC)

  7. Block the site. You can do so by configuring your internet option!
