  1. Give 'em guns, then there won't be so much knife crime

  2. i think that they should bring back hanging then you know that if you kill with a knife you are going to hang

  3. battle royale

  4. Unfortunately the media is going a little crazy with this one. Statistically knife crime isn't any worse than it was, not to say that it isn't bad, because it is pretty awful. But it's selling news, so it's everywhere at the moment. Ironically all this media frenzy can only fuel the problem by making people more fearful, and more likely to carry a weapon for self-defence. Similar to the gun problem in the USA. Most people own a gun there because the media has them living in fear.

Basically harsher punishment for anyone carrying a non-work related blade is one step. And a stiff custodial sentence for anyone caught using one violently, a work related blade or not.

I don't believe carrying a blade for self-defence is a wise idea in the slightest. I'm not sure how specific the law is on this one, but I believe simple defence weapons such as mace or lighter pepper sprays should be legal if they are not already. Nothing that can cause serious harm, but certainly help get you out of a dangerous situation. Guns is a definite no.

I study and teach martial arts, and a big part is teaching defence against knife attack. But the unfortunate side of this is, if someone wants to stab or slash you, you're not really going to see it coming. If someone is flashing a blade at you, they are mostly just trying to scare you. This training can help, but it's no guarantee of keeping you 100% safe and unharmed.

My mouth is hanging open at the ignoramus who believes knife crime is not a white crime.

  5. Blimey, you've got all the answers. Well done.

  6. The UK need to join the 21st century and be like the rest of the western world.

With the slightest cut it would be classified as attempted murder. Threatening someone with a knife would be about the same. Just carrying a knife would classify as intent to commit bodily harm...... not just a little fine and a few days in jail.

ALL police officers should carry a weapon. The implied threat is that if you commit a crime the police will just shoot you if need be. No sitting around and waiting until an officer with a weapon shows.

Like I said the courts and police need to catch up and rethink everything. The world and the UK have changed........ pre WW2 ways of doing things just don't work anymore.

  7. Get the "police" to do what WE pay them to do,..the lazy bast*ards!!!

  8. Knife Crime is a Blight in this Nation of ours. Rap Culture, and overseas Gangsters is to blame. One could expect a slashing or slicing if one messes with the wrong people, vis a vis Gambling Debts or whatever in the murky Underworld.

Now, one only has to accidentally catch one of these filthy pieces of **** in the eye, to warrant such an attack.

They are Animals, they address their aggressiveness by murder, or threat of.

It 'aint British, it 'aint Cricket. And, I for one would kick them out of the Country. If that isn't possible I would sanction the use of severe Physical Punishment as carried out by a select sector of the Secret Police.

  9. It is not the knife which is the problem, it is the fear in society that encourages people to carry a weapon in the absence of an efficient Judicial system that should work for the victim of crime and not the perpetrator.

In Switzerland there is not a household which does not have a gun, on conscription the recruit is given a rifle and taught the correct way to use a knife, on release he takes the gun home with him,  when was the last time you heard of a shooting or stabbings in Switzerland?

Britain is a country which gives it's youth nothing to direct the innate aggressive energy which is inherent in all youth the world over they need direction and a challenge to work towards whilst they are growing up, they do not need encouragement to drink themselves stupid at all hourswhich is what this government has done, if all decent people who read this start a movement for change like the ripples on a pond,we can bring about a change of direction in a government more concerned with meddling in other countries politics than looking after its own people,  this is why the Swiss are so successful  at keeping crime in check, they care about their children and their own people!

  10. MORE YEARS I JAIL WITH NONE OF THE LUXURIES JAILS SEEM TO HAVE AT THE MOMENT

  11. It is well documented if the law comes down on carrying knifes it stops almost immediately, Zero tolerance is the only way , the PC brigade will prattling on about it will not work but in the fifties a judge took a very strong line on this and gave two men caught carrying knifes 10 years in jail with no remission ,  knife carrying stopped almost instantly

  12. Carry a firearm.

If there's going to be a knife fight... I want superior firepower on my side!

  13. i think immigration is a big part.

its the gangs from places like africa, somalia and eastern block countries bringing violence with them. where they are from the is violence everywhere and they come to the UK and bring that with them. i think there should be a freeze on immigration for a few years until the english ppl can secure their own jobs again and the government and police can work with the ppl with knives on the street now rather than worrying about more ppl coming over with more hatred.

knife crime isnt a white crime, fact.

white ppl use more physical violence by beating ppl up and all that. knife crime is gangs and gangs are associated with black immigrants.

  14. no need to carry one

jail anyone for 5 years min for carrying one

life in jail for stabbing someone

then turn your head around and seeing the bleeding

heart liberals prattle on about their effing human rights

  15. Do not do a kife crime.

    No.

    Yes.

  16. If you're caught with one - TEN years.

If you USE one - LIFE with NO PAROLE.

Do the same with their parents too............

Do-gooders, the PC brigade and the Human Rights crowd can go and whistle up their kilts too ! ! !

  17. Zante may have a point. I don't think knife crime has suddenly exploded. I don't see more cases in my work at court. We have to bear in mind that some of the hype is media-driven and that some of it is down to interpretation of statistics. As we all know, statistics can say anything you want them to. I am not belittling the problem. Any crime involving a knife is bad. However, there are already laws out there which make it illegal to carry a 'sharp bladed instrument' or an 'offensive weapon' in a public place. The punishment is quite strict just for having the item in public without even using it. If a knife is used to commit another crime, such as robbery or assault, the penalty for the main offence will be increased to reflect that.

I guess what I am trying to say is that there is already a system in place. It does appear to work when these people are caught. It ain't broke so why fix it. Is not the problem giving the police the support and means to catch these people? Is it also not important that we tackle the cause of this behaviour, as Zante suggests?

Just me on my soapbox again. Sorry.

  18. There is a new law coming out that if you walk out of your house with any sort of sharp object will be arrested/Fined and the knife confiscated.

I think that people who carry knifes should attend meetings under law and be warned about all this

And Nope i do not carry one and NEVER used one

  19. i have carried one an been to jail for using one! i think the key to stoping it is to make people feel they dont need to carry knifes an guns to protect themselves.its kill or be killed out here an no one wants to die so they carry.once people feel safe this **** wont happen!

  20. Firstly - Stephaaanbeale, what planet do you live on?  "knife crime isnt a white crime, fact" - what have you based this "fact" on?  I grew up in a very white area and knife crime was as common then as it is now.

Anyway, I think it should be automatic jail sentence for carrying and using.  And not in some namby pamby youth offenders place either.

I have never carried one, but growing up I knew loads of people who carried knives and more than a few that used one.  It's not a new crime in the UK and the Government should have dealt with it years ago. If they had we probably wouldn't be in the mess we are in now.

  21. Never  carried one, never will... dont know anyone that does.

I guess im just lucky to grow up in a safe-ish area.

as to what we can do about it... i dont really know... i dont think these jail sentences for carrying knives are going to reduce knife crime though
