  1. Put it in a crate by all means..this will save alot of chewing up things later on.  Take it out every hour at least and certainly after each meal.  It will have to be a few months older to really understand what you want it to do. I have a 7 month old chi and just within the last month, she has finally caught on as to what to do.  She was very hard to train.  But the crate was one of the best things we did for her.  We can say "crate, crate" now and she will go in with no trouble.

Enjoy your puppy and please be patient. Some are easier to train than others and catch on quicker. Our poodle caught on in no time.

  2. umm im not quite sure but i know someone who is trying to get there dog to let them know when it wants out and what they do is make it sit in front of the door before everytime they take it out that way hopefully it will just go sit by the door when it wants out. i think we made our dogs "speak" or bark before we let them out and now they bark when they have to go out. other wise im not sure whats good to do because i dont remember training our dogs im not sure what we did. sorry i couldnt be more helpful.

  3. Puppy's us ally have a bladder that last 2-4 hours so this is going to take alot on your part. There are several methods but the one i used for mine was observation.

You have to watch the dog very closely. When it starts to get maybe a little sniffy of wants to wander off this is a good time to get the leash on and take it out side walk it around and say something like "ok go potty" or "take a p**s" or what ever works for you. If it doesn't go then take it back inside and repeat this process until it goes outside. Then praise it. Tell it it's a good dog or something. Puppy's want to please you so it will see this as a positive experiencece.

If the dog happens to go in the house and you don't see it just clean the mess and don't reprimand or rub it's nose in the pee or poo. If you catch it in the act then clap your hands and take it outside immediately even if it went just take it straight out side. If it goes again then praise if not then fine.

The last point is poo. Dogs seem to go after they eat so this is a good time to take them outside and teach them where to go. Use a leash and rewards like treats and love and it will happen in no time.

ps. this does mean a couple of months of getting up in the middle of the night and letting the dog out. A kennel is good for this because the dog won't go in a place that it is sleeping in. (so you can sleep all night)

  4. maybe you should take her to like a dog training class. or you can just start by telling her commands and giving her treats if she does them.. you probably have to like show her them but then she will start getting them down. but if you want her to go outside to go to the bathroom you should start taking her out there now and if she ever goes in the house then just like yell at her and tell her she did wrong and just keep taking her out eventually she will just start going to the door and waiting for you.. haha i know this because i 2 dogs and its worked for me.haha gooood luuuuck!

  5. With all due respect, you should have made an effort to learn these things before you got your dog. I recommend you get a couple of books to read on dog training. You need to potty train him, and teach him to sit, stay, come and down. You need to socialize him with other people and other animals. These are critical training elements for the safety of your animal. You also need to learn what, how much, and when to feed him, and when to take him to the vet for his immunizations. I wish you well.

  6. okay to train your dog to use the bathroom outside.  DO NOT HIT IT. if you hit the dog it will make it agressive. when it does its busness in the house clean it up and say no to the dog in a strong voice and ingnore him for about 10 mintues. after you clean up the mess put the food or water on top of it. When you do that he will smell the scent and he wont like it so then he starts understanding

  7. To train your puppy to use the bathroom outside, look for signs that tell you that she's going to relieve herself. Most puppies start turning around in circles and sniffing, circling a place they find to relieve themselves. Whenever you start seeing your puppy doing this, quickly take him/her outside to a designated bathroom location outside and after she/he relieves himself/herself, praise with a happy tone, lots of petting, a few treats and do this consistantly!! Also, you could take your puppy to doggy schools or obedience classes! They are helpful and some puppy training classes include some tips on grooming and feeding. Also, if barking is an issue, keep a squirt bottle handy. Whenever your puppy starts to bark at people who pass by or other dogs, a small squirt will do. Do not drench ur dog in water, but puppies do not enjoy small squirts and so your puppy will learn to associate these unpleasant, surprising squirts with excessive barking. Hope this helps! Good luck! It's alot of work

  8. Buy a crate and keep the pup in it at all times...

Take her out every 1-2 hours

Taker her to her potty spot

    Tell her "Go Pee"

    Wait until she pees/poos

As she relieves herself say, "Go Pee"

As she stands when she is done say, "Good Dog" and

Reward her efforts with a little treat or generous praise

*The reward must be immediate upon finishing her business so she associates relieving herself with something good.

Play with her for a little while

Put her back in the crate

    Feed her in the crate

And do not put any blankets, ect, in the crate

    Repeat the process

Set an alarm clock for every 2 hours at night and take her out to her spot and tell her "Go Pee"...at night do not play or anything like that...just get down to business.

We did this with our 15 week old Collie and she is 99% housebroke...the 1% is for any unforseen accidents in the future...which would really not be accidents, just oversights on our part.

  9. theres is a thing called a clicker and it works just ask your local pet store theyll know bout it!!

  10. It's pretty hard to train such a youn little puppy, they must be 4 months before you start training them and if it's a pure breed depends on the breed too. I recently got 2 japanese chins and I went through the same thing, even the vet told me I had 2 wait. I know those wee wee pads are kind of expensive, but just wait 2 more months. And by the way little stinkers by cherrybrook.com is the best brand of wee wee pad they last more than the cheap ones so you don't have to change it that often

  11. Please don't yell or hit your dog. =_=; That's not the way to training a dog.

Best bet is to buy a dog training book. A puppy needs to use the bathroom almost every 4 hours or so. Especially in the morning and after it's meals. So take it outside during those times and when she uses the bathroom, pee and poo, make sure to praise her. It's also helpful if you have an area with newspaper in the house and when she uses the bathroom on that and you praise her then she will feel that she is pleasing you by using the bathroom in those specified areas.

Hope this helps a bit, but remember it takes time to fully train so don't rush~

  12. Get a thin stick.

Spank him hard a few times when he or she does something wrong.

The dog will fear that stick.

    Use this to your advantage.

    Spanking is the answer.

  13. if you're gonna train her to use a dog door then yell at her and take her outside whenever she goes to the bathroom inside and when she goes outside praise her and give her a treat and eventually shell do it on her own

edit: NO DONT HIT THE DOG

when u yell at her or praise her be sure its right after she went or she wont make the connection

  14. The smaller the breed of dog, the harder it is to housebreak.

Here is a link with some tips, and a video to watch.  This guy has been on TV, and in the dog trainning business for quite a while.

  15. Go to the source. It has everything you need to know about anything.

  16. There is a small, easy to read, inexpensive and fantastically good book called How to Housebreak Your Dog in Seven Days.  You can buy it at Dogwise (dogwise.com) and have them airship it to you so you'll have it by tomorrow or the next day.  It's easy to do, it works great and you'll see results before the week is up.

  17. When I first got my pug he was 7 weeks old and I just started training him at that age. I would tell him to sit and push his bottom to the floor. Just repeat it and eventually he'll learn ''sit''. That's how I taught him to sit.

When teaching your puppy to ''stay'' put your hand in front of it's face and tell it the command ''stay'' and back away. Just reapeat this over and over and he WILL ''stay''. If he/she does the command, reward it.

Now my puppy is obedient. I really think that it will work for your puppy.

    Good Luck=]
