Hi, im 16 and im going to join a professional Boxing Gym in the next 2-3 months or so but I dont want to go in there as a novice with no experience in Stamina or endurance. I thought maybe if i trained hard enough on building my Heart and Lungs before I signed up to the gym, then maybe i could be more advanced.

Also, I used to be extremely quick in my hand speed ( ex. like throwing Jabs and hooks) but ever since i started working out my upper body ive noticed that ive grown bigger but at the same time ive decreased my speed. Any 1 know why?

  1. You will be considered a novice until you get a signficant amount of fights. Everyone can train for years, but it changes once you actually take a punch. Most people can continue once that happens but if you can then by all means get your cardio up to par. In boxing stamina plays a big key in this sport.

  2. Run miles at a time such as cross country trails & jump a lot of rope.  Try to be able to jump rope at a consistant speed for 10, 15, and even 20 minutes.

  3. Just try doing a lot of Cardio, but make sure you do it everyday. Try atleast an hour a day. Like running, running upstairs, riding a bike etc. They also sell stamina pills but i doubt they work
