Question:

How to Treat a Persistent Red patch on my face-Rosacea?

Ever since I was in Middle School Ive had one patch of skin on the bottom left side that was RED. It is incredibly embarassing because even with makeup you can still see this red spot.

In the last few months, Ive done 3 IPL treatments which seemed to have at least helped A LITTLE. The spot know looks a little more "pinker" and not AS "red".

Lately Ive also started using neosporin because Ive read in many places people with rosacea can benefit from this. Sometimes when Im in the sun I flush badly, or when I am stressed. If I do high impact cardio I also can get a patch of blood vessels, so I keep to walking, etc.. Otherwise, my rosacea isnt as bad as I have seen with other people.

However this red patch which is worse than the rest of my face and so prominant is still there.

I dont know what to do, my quality of life is terribly low. I can't even take my makeup without seeing it, its so embarassing. What can I do? I just want normal skin like everyone else, even if I flush still which I dont THAT bad.......I just want this RED PATCH to go away....I cant take it anymore!!!

  1. If this is rosacea Metrogel will take care of it.  It takes a couple of weeks to take full effect and requires a prescription.  If this is a patch of seborrheic dermatitis Hydrocortisone cream 1% will do the trick pretty quickly and this is otc.
