How to Win a Scholarship?

Does anyone have any advice on how to win a scholarship? I never win them. What do I have to do? Do I have to win first place in some competition? Is it the essay? What do I have to do to win?

Get good grades and apply for fafsa

Yeah, usually your essay has to be good.

They also often look at things like marks and extracurricular activities that you do to prove that you're a 'well-rounded' student.

And try to find local scholarships or ones that are focused on a particular group of people (eg. a scholarship for those of Italian descent) because you won't have as much competition!
