How to Zero Sniper Scope on Airsoft Gun?

I don't know how to zero the scope, right now it's really off.

Can I take it to a store that specialises in Airsoft and have them zero it for me, and adjust the hop-up while thir at it?

  1. id say get yourself a bid piece of cardboard and make your self a target...move back roughly the same distance you would be if you were to shoot something(considering and air soft it wont be very far<comparing to rifles>) then lay on the ground(most stable position) aim at the traget and shoot...where ever you hit the board...adjust your scope and work your way until its close enough to the bullseye...be sure to do it on a day with no wind...that is when it will be most accurate and consistent

  2. I have Calibrated many scopes, and here is what I have learned. The main thing is that you should not make the same mistake that I have made many times:

DO NOT put it on a stand or lean it up against a tree while shooting it when you are trying to sight it. If you do this and you zero it with outside help, it will not shoot strait without those things.

The best way to sight the scope would be to hang a paper or cardboard target from a tree. Put your reticle right where you want the bb to hit, and fire ten shots. Now go and see where your bb's have hit. Hopefully you have maintained a fairly close group of shots. If the majority of the shots hit down and to the left of the target, than move the reticle up a few clicks and over a few clicks. In general, one click is about an inch, but this varies greatly between scopes. Now stand in the same place and take ten more shots, and repeat this process until the shots are consistantly hitting around the center of the target.

If you were wondering how to actually move the reticle inside the scope up and down or left and right, there should be a k**b on the top and a k**b on the side of the scope. For some scopes, this nob is just a cover, and you have to unscrew it to see the actual adjustment screws.

I wish you the best of luck in sighting your gun.

  3. Zeroing it yourself is best.  Here is a great tutorial based on the Army method of zeroing an M16/M4.

As far as hop up.  Have them show you how to adjust.  You need to know how to do this as the hopup will go out of adjustment over time (vibration, bumping it, etc).  Because it goes out of adjustment and you have to readjust from time to time you'll also need to re-zero it everytime you set the hopup.

  4. So you want to line it up?
