I am going with a new provider - dropping ATT YAHOO & prodigy account. I have a free yahoo email account but can't get into all my groups with it - I did all the tricks, helps, etc..but nothing is working. Thanks. I am in 144 "yahoo groups" for years.

  1. This same problem has been asked about several times on Yahoo Answers and I have never seen a firm answer on how anyone actually handled it.

You can try using the Yahoo Groups Help Form to get assistance from Yahoo staff members. Here is the link to the form:  http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/groups/...

In #7, select Yes to allow Yahoo staff to enter your account information in order to help you.

In #8, use the drop down arrow to select problem you are having.  You should select "Group-Other".

In #9 provide detailed info on what the problem is and when it started.  Include the name of your old and new internet service provider (ISP), your old ATT Yahoo email address and your current free Yahoo address when describing the problems using each.

I hope you can get the problem fixed - that must be maddening justing thinking about not being able to get into 144 groups that you belong to!

  2. if the free yahoo account is not the same as the ATT Yahoo, you probably wont be able to be seen as a member in any group you're in. a groups membership is  based on what you used to subscribe with, if that changes or is no longer usable, you'll have to join these groups again with that new free Yahoo. you can change e-mail prefs all day long, but not Yahoo ID.

if you still can log onto the ATT account, copy the links to all those groups before you change so you can subscribe to them again.
