i want to make a corset that has a bottom that flares out, and stays that way like this dior gown.

  1. Your links are bad, but I know what you mean. I use a stiff interfacing, the kind they sell in the drapery fabrics department. It's so stiff it can stand up on its own. Boning helps too, but isn't always necessary. You can find many patterns that will give you just the right cut. Here are some examples, available at your local fabric store
