How to activate a 1995 z71 into 4x4

how do i turn my 4x4 on and off on a 1995 z71 silverado

put vehicle in neutral, shift 4wheel into 4wheel hi or low, ptu back into d3 NOT OVERDRIVE, and go, if you use overdrive you could burn it up

If it's manual, pull the lever to 4hi or 4lo.If it's electronic, turn the switch on the dash.

Well you probably got lock-outs look on your front tires and there should be a round piece that says lock and unlock. You need to lock in your front tires, just turn it to were the center is on the lock. Than put your truck in neutral and shift it to 4 wheel drive. Than shift to reverse and back up a few feet. Now put it in drive and you should be good to go.

I good way to make sure your in 4 wheel drive is to turn as sharp as possible and look and see if the front tires grab on the pavement the should make a popping noise.
