How to activate answering machine for Motorola MA351?

This phone has been in storage while my job had me traveling, and I can't figure out how to access the messages it shows it has - checked the Motorola website, and can find instructions for everything but the "In use/Messages" light that keeps blinking.

do you have a manual of your cellphone. it's written there if you have it. if not, try to check it over the menu of your cellphone as i assumed there is a setting for that on how to open. though cellphone's settings differ each other. if not, bring it to the telephone company or else if your carrier could give a technical support for that, you can call them and they will instruct you how to do it.
