How to add a second laptop to a Linksys router?

I currently have a desktop computer and have the router for one laptop. I just purchased another laptop and I am trying to connect the internet to it. I went to the Linksys page and tried to add the laptop's info by clicking on the "Wireless" tab but it went to 99% and says "Searching for your client device.

Please wait...

If you haven't clicked on the Wi-Fi Protected Setup button on your client device, please do so now. " Its been like this for the past hour. What do I do now? Thanks in advance for your help.

  1. Just go to your laptop's Network settings (in Control Panel) and search for your network then choose "connect".  If you've secured your network with a password (which I hope you've done) enter it and you should be good to go.

  2. I had this problem. Trust me, do NOT call Linksys. My dad was on the phone with them for literally 4 hours, each person told him something different and when they didn't know what to do they hung up on him.

You usually have to enter the wireless network code. I think it's different on different laptops ... if it's a Mac laptop make sure you use $ in front of the code.

It's sort of hard for me to explain on here (I'm better doing it rather than explaining) but hope this helped even a bit.
