How to add a video to youtube?

Hi i'm trying to add a video to youtube but im having problems im using a good video camera but my disc to film with is small like half the size of a dvd disc and i tried putting in the computer but went to my computer than it said dvd disc or something then it says not responding what do i do????

1) are you sure your computer CD drive is DVD compatible? With that type of disc, your computer CD drive MUST be DVD compatible - it will say it right on the front of the CD drive usually, if it only says CD, then you can't load the disc. The door has to say DVD on it for it to be compatible.  I've never tried the smaller discs, either, you may have to specify the format for it to see the smaller disc.

2) Sometimes YouTube has alot of people trying to upload, and it may be stopping due to a huge input load. May have to wait until morning to try again. I've gotten that before.
