  1. In order to add audio to a Pivot animation, you need to change the basic pivot format into a movie format.  To the best of my knowledge, only a movie format can accept and let you work with an audio track. The usual technique is to make your Pivot animation a GIF format because most movie editors can handle GIF files.

In a simple Pivot animation you're working with individual frames that are most likely in JPEG (or JPG) format.  This is the same format a standard photo is in.  That's why you can't add audio to a standard Pivot animation because JPEG doesn't support audio.  This article explains a bit more about the different file formats and gives examples.  I think the example of an animated GIF is pretty cool.

Once you've changed your Pivot animation to GIF format you can use a movie editor like Windows Movie Maker to import the GIF files so it can be edited and sound added.  This tutorial goes into a lot more detail about adding sounds to a Pivot animation.  Like anything new, it's going to take some experimentation and playing around with the various controls and features.  So if you've got a really awesome Pivot animation and you don't want to lose it or mess it up, make a couple of copies and use them to practice on.
