How to add new music and videos to your ipod without erasing the old ones?

it says"are you sure you want to sync movies?all existing songs,movies and tv shows will be remove and replaced with movies from your itunes library"..can someone please help me!!!

  1. sync means update really cos on my ipod (not video) it syncs every time i plug my ipod in to my computer and it just adds songs on
