Question:

How to address mail to Lebanon?

Hi. I want to send some mail, over to a mate in Lebanon. He is there on Holidays. How do I address the mail??

The village he is staying in does not have any street names or house numbers. Rather all mail is forwarded to a local office where all residents go to collect their mail.

The village I want to send it to is Kfrasghrab.

Thanks to anyone who can help

  1. Write your friend's name then c/o the name of the person he's staying with or the motel and then write down kfarsghab Lebanon and if you have a tel number where he is staying...and the mail will get to them, be sure your return address is clear.

funny thing is that the post office has local pple from each town working there and they know everyone

  2. http://www.kfarsghab.net/

There is a contact section on this website where you can place comments.  You could ask them how to address the mail you want to send to your mate.  Also your own postmaster will be able to assist you with that.  Call them and ask them how to send mail to Kfarsghab.

    info@lebanonembassyus.org

This is the site for the Lebanonese Embassy in Washington DC.  I phoned them to find out what to do and they said to do this:

Put the person's name and their street address on the envelope with Kfarsghab, Lebanon on there and that there is no postal code and to just send it like that.  I tried to get the address to the post office in Lebanon also, because you could send it to the post office marked c/o the person that you are sending the mail to but they did not have that information readily available.  You can call the post office or the embassy to find out exactly what you should do to send this mail.

    Hope this helps.
