How to adjust AC BELT tensioner on suzuki XL7 2002?

  1. its not too bad of a job. the easiest way is to loosen the power steering pump reservoir from the radiator and folding it back towards the valve cover. then loosen the two bolts on the tensioner eccentric pulley. the will be a 12mm head. then you will need a 10mm allen wrench to insert into the pulley. then the pulley counter clock wise to your desired tightness and tighten the pulley bolts. put the reservoir back in place and you Will be in business.


  2. What you see under the hood is what you get, one real pain in the rear job.

    I suggest having a shop do it unless you want to buy some special tools such as a large allen wrench or hex head bits, various extensions and flex head ratchet. If you have all those then you simply loosen the bolts holding the tensioner pulley in place and while simultaneously using the hex bit and ratchet with extension you rotate the pulley till belt is tight then tighten down the bolts with your 3rd hand. Simple :(
