How to adjust idle on 1977 honda express moped?

when i put it on the stand and the choke is off it runs really high like the choke is on or sumthing...any way to adjust/lower this its 49 cc

  1. There should be an idle adjustment s***w.  Just follow the throttle cable and you should be able to track it down.


  2. be sure there is free play in throttle cable,then follow to carb .mite haveair leak if not responsive to adjustment of idle s***w

  3. The idle s***w is on the left side of the carburetor.

    It's easily identifiable by it having a coiled spring on the s***w.

    Turning it clockwise, raises the idle.

    Counter clockwise lowers the idle.

    Another reason for high idle, is an air leak at the intake manifold (where the carb attaches to the engine).

    The o-ring between the carb and manifold would be the cause if that is the problem.

    Tighten the bolts holding the carb to the engine.
