  1. if you have to ask to need to have a tech do it, unles you like broken legs.

  2. screwdriver

  3. You should ask a tuner or look it up on youtube, Adjust the release is not smart because of all of the variables. Get someone to guide you threw it

It is different than a snowboard because it matters more than snowboard bindings

  4. Another poster had the answer exactly right: "let a trained ski technician do it."  Why?  Well, if you are asking the question in the first place, (no offense intended) you obviously have not been trained.

Yes, there are adjustments that you can use to increase or decrease the DIN (a standardized release measurement that factors in your weight and ski ability), but let me give you an illustrative example of doing the wrong thing:

Once I kept releasing out of my bindings early (usually in the bumps or certain extremely narrow "trails" where I was avoiding logs, rocks and small trees).  It was so maddening to shoot out of one's skis.  In extreme frustration, I increased the DIN two whole levels.  Only later did I realize that the two front "wings" that hold down the toe of the sole of the boot had somehow come loose.  I could actually move the toe of my boot up and down!  Adjusting that (and bringing the DIN back to the setting where it was supposed to be set) corrected the problem.

So, this is an example of making ski binding adjustments where one does not really know what they are doing, and the consequences of getting it wrong can be serious injury.
