Heres the thing. I want to start babysitting, I have for a year, but mom keeps telling me I don't have anyone to babysit! But there's a couple kids in bike-riding distance but mom still says no! I took a freaking babysitting class for this, and mom tells me there's nobody to babysit! I told her to tell people at work, but she says nobody has any children. But couldn't they tell other people though? I have 2 nephews, they're a good start. There's a bigger neighborhood 20 minutes away by car, but mom won't drive me there all the time. What compromise can I make with my mom with that?

  1. place an add in the grocery store with your name on it and phone to call with the little tear offs at the bottom so people who look at the bulletin boars can just tear one off and call you

  2. Regarding your mom - ask her why she doesn't want you to do this?  Is she worried the responsibility is too great?

If you decide you want to go ahead with this, ask her to help you volunteer at the local community center or daycare - once you have more experience she may feel better about you doing this job.

Then create a flyer and post it at your local community center.  Are there any local daycare centers near you?  If yes, go talk to the owner or manager and ask if you can post a notice about your babysitting services.

    Good luck.
