I have a weirdly long lash line and always have trouble with lashes too!!

I read in a magazine a couple years ago this tip that has saved me a million times over:

Cut the lashes into groups of 3-4 lashes and apply one by one across the lash line with tweezers. (not your fingers) Squirt the lash glue onto a smooth surface and dip the lashes in the glue rather than trying to squeeze a line across the lashes.

Alternatively, if you'd rather keep the lashes in one piece, apply the lashes (still with tweezers, still dipped in glue) starting at the very outer corners of your eye. Rather than curving down with the outer corner of your eye, keep the lash *straight*. Otherwise, you will notice the lashes peeling off at the corners by the end of the night. You will have a small triangular gap between your lashes and your natural lash line this way, but just fill it in with some liquid liner and no one will ever notice. Promise. If the lashes don't reach to your inner corner (mine only ever make it half way) you will need to have a second set on hand that you'll trim down with scissors to fit the length of your eye lid. Always smudge a bit of black eyeshadow across the line of your lashes afterwards to give you a gorgeous smoky eye that doubles to cover up any obvious lines.
