I am currently in NY and i finished my High school with 4.0 GPA .What else do i need to know about the process of addmission there..plz help

  1. I have got the following old (2005-2006) Admission Detail from internet browsing, but you may use the guidelines and for further details please write to: The Principal, Armed Forces Medical College, Dhaka Cantt, Dhaka.

    Applications are invited in the prescribed form from unmarried Bangladeshi citizens to take MBBS course in Armed Forces Medical College under Dhaka University for session 2005-2006.

    Admission Eligibility

    1. Students who have passed the SSC/Equivalent in 2002 or 2003 and HSC/Equivalent in 2004 or 2005.

    2. Total GPA 7.0 in SSC and HSC (with GPA 3.0 in Biology) and GPA 3.0 in each of SSC and HSC.

    3. Physical Fitness:

    a) Male:

    i) Height: 1.63 m (5 feet 4 inch)

    ii) Weight: 45.36 kg (100 lbs)

    iii) Chest: 0.76m / 30 inch (Normal) and 0.81m / 32 inch (Expanded)

    iv) Hearing Capacity: Normal

    v) Eye: 6/6 (+2.5)

    b) Female:

    i) Height: 1.57 m (5 feet 2 inch)

    ii) Weight: 40.72 kg (88 lbs)

    iii) Chest: 0.71m / 28 inch (Normal) and 0.76m / 30 inch (Expanded)

    iv) Hearing Capacity: Normal

    v) Eye: 6/6 (+2.5)

    Terms and Conditions:

    1. Must be unmarried and Bangladeshi citizen.

    2. Age 20 years (maximum) on 1st July, 2005

    3. Who passed the written test can sit for the IQ and Psychology test on merit basis.

    4. Who passed the IQ and Psychology test will be selected as Medical Cadet after examining physical fitness.

    5. After MBBS and Internship course student must join the Army Medical Core for at least 5 (five) years.

    6. If anyone would not to like to join the Army Medical Core after MBBS and Internship course, he/she must compensate the fixed amount of money.

    Application From collection and submission:

    1. The Prescribed Application form & prospectus is to be obtained from the Head Office, Armed Forces Medical College, Dhaka Cantt. by depositing Tk. 500/- (non-refundable).

    2. O- and A-level passed applicants must submit the Equivalency Certificate issued by Bangladesh Health Department.

    3. The completed application should reach to the Army Head Quarter, AG's Branch, PA Department (PA-2), Dhaka Cantt, Dhaka, Armed Forces Medical College on or before 15th November, 2005.

    4. Incomplete application and application with false information (whenever detected) will be rejected.



    Important Dates

    1. Application Form distribution: 20 October to 08 November 2005

    2. Last Date of Submission: 15 November 2005

    3. Admit card distribution: 27 November to 1st December 2005

    4. Admission Test: 02 December 2005 at 10:00

    Brief Description:

    The academic activities of Armed Forces Medical College commenced through induction of 56 medical cadets on 20 June 1999. The college is affiliated to University of Dhaka and recognized by Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council (BMDC). So far 9 batches of total 493 students have been inducted. The students of First 4 batches have already become doctor and the 3rd batch has completed their internship training in Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Dhaka. Remaining batches are progressing as per the academic schedule. The admission is based on merit keeping in conformity with Government order published vide AFMC instruction -1/2003

    Armed Forces Medical College is located at Dhaka Cantonment on the northern side of Airport Road, which is an island of scenic tranquility blended with natural beauty and bounty. The AFMC campus possesses an area of about 13 acres of land opposite to Cantonment Railway Station and Hotel Radisson, Dhaka.
