How to apply for a teaching job?

I made a 530 on my health education praxis. But live in South Carolina where i need a 630, can I send to another state for cerfication and show it to a school district here and teach, can another help me? Ohio only needs a 480.

  1. Unless South Carolina is in high need of teachers, they won't be very likely to reciprocate another state's license, especially if you haven't taught and have lower scores than SC requires.  If they're not in need, they can afford to be picky.

    Check out what other states require, but I know for a fact that right now Ohio is NOT in need of teachers.  The market is flooded.  Right now there are people with teaching degrees who've been farming or working in factories for several years waiting for jobs to open up.  Check Texas and New Mexico.


  2. I agree. Take a praxis training class and take the test again. If South Carolina requires a 630, they are not going to let you teach there without that grade, regardless of whether you are certified in another state or not.
