My grandmother is 77 years old and she has been living in the USA for almost 20 years now. She's planning to take the citizenship test, but she doesn't speak English. I know she can have the interview in her native language, but how should I ask for an interpreter for the interview? Or how should I let them know that my grandmother wants to have the interview in her native language? Do I need to fill out a form and send in with the N-400 form, or should I show up with my grandmother for the interview so I can just translate for her? Can someone help?

  1. Coordinate with the INS for the interpreter of your grandmother.
