Right well it was my sisters boyfriends birthday at the weekend, I went out and got him a present costing £22 and my boyfriend agreed to split the bill with me.

Now its his nephews birthday on the weekend and I agreed to do the same, So I went out and his present came to £12. He hasn't given me any money yet towards either of the presents? How much does he owe me, we want to pay half each for each of the presents. I'm totally confused.

At first I worked it out that he owes me a fiver and I told him this but I think I am totally wrong so how do I ask him for the money? As now its gonna be more hes gonna be like WHAT!? that cant be right!! :-(

  1. The total of both gifts would be 34 so if you divide that by 2 that would be 17 each. Hope that helps. Just say hey can i get the money you owe me??? GOod Luck.

  2. Try these lines if you cant tell it straight that he should pay up...

"oh no! the deadline for my project is on friday and i need to buy some materials, and i dont have money left.. could you pay now coz i really need it.."

  3. Stop agreeing to this.  Just remind him that he didn't contribute to the other presents.  Just show him that 22+12 =34.  Half of 34 is 17.  That is how much he owes you.  Stop agreeing to split presenst with him.  Next time he suggests it tell him to go buy the gift and you'll give him half.

  4. This isn't rocket science.  If he agreed to split the costs of the presents, he owes you half of the total amount you spent.  As far as asking him for it, he TOLD you he wanted to split the cost and would pay you.  You have every right to remind him (don't nag) and be straightforward about it.  If he still won't pay, you might want to consider a new boyfriend!  If he goes back on his word once, he'll do it again.

  5. you just got to tell him straight if he loves you he'll give it to you , so don't hesitate to ask
