How to assassinate on gta 4?

How do you do assassinations. It was shown in a beginning mission but I don't remember how (the one where its all dramatic on the kill) Xbox 360

u can't... u jjst shoot them... unless it's meant to be a dramatic cutscene, it won't... or do you mean an execution? coz if u do, it is shown by a flashing reticule when you aim at them, and they'll talk to you.

then you shoot them (i'd recommend in the face with a shotgun, it looks cool)

Only certain missions and scenes allow you to do the "executions" (not assassinations really), where the target is helpless and just talks/cusses to you until you finally decided to pull the trigger.  It's part of the fun and story to take the time to listen to the entire dialogue, unless you really don't care.

The reticule is the aiming target thing.  Just aim for their head, and do the deed.
