Question:

How to attach a rabbit run to a hutch?

Hi,

I have a lavender lodge hutch, bought from pets at home. I already have a separate grass run for my rabbit to exercise under supervision, but I would like to give her some more space.

I want to buy an attachable run and fix it to her hutch, but it has to be:

-safe and secure in case of cats/ urban foxes

-easy to unattach for cleaning

Has anyone done this before? Can you give me some tips on the best fixings to use?

Thanks for your help!

Rachel.

  1. hook and eye fixings are the ones usually used on detachable runs, but i would suggest the loop and eye and fit with a pad lock for better security.

Detachable runs do usually come with plywood pieces to fit to the bottom of the hutch where it is raised off the floor, if yours does not have this plywood and there is a gap, then i suggest you buy a piece from your local diy store and cut it to size.

Make sure the bottom of your run is meshed so predators cannot get in and your rabbit cannot dig out.
