  1. Hit the TE over the deep middle.  The Cover 3 leaves a hole right behind the middle linebacker.  Also, occasionally, if you pull of a play-action pass right, you can hit a receiver on a deep fly route over the corner.

Also, try running if they keep playing pass defense.

  2. try a screen play. slants always work for me on most plays.

  3. I have never played Madden 09, but I have played Madden 08 and I can tell you how to attack it. Your best bet is to go into a pass play on I form, and if you are sure that your opponent is doing Cover 3 then just audible to a run play.

If you want to pass against Cover 3 then your best bet is to make the receiver go on some sort of sideline route to take away the Corner, and let the tight end to one on one with the safety (on a deep post route) either in our out works. The deep post in only works if you have the wideout take the left CB or whatever deep along with him on a deep route though. though.

You can also just make the receiver go one on one with the corner, and if he has a good position on it throw it right so you can us catch and get some big yards (works a lot when you are playing with the patriots).

Another good way is to make the RB and FB go into the flat, start to roll out, and if the LB comes up to get you throw is over him to the RB or FB, but if he sticks to the coverage just run it.

In the end Cover three can be easily beaten with a fast QB, and with receiving RB you can get alot of short yardage pass plays in. or just run against it to get a lot of rushing yards.

  4. Might be funny but punt the ball. There's a high chance of a fumble.

  5. Most playbooks have the following play. It works great on Cover 3, I have been tearing it up using this play:

    PA Center Waggle

It is a Play Action Pass with two receivers to your left running shallow slants to the right and your tight end on the right side of the offensive line runs a flat out to the side line.

Your "Hot Route" receiver is almost always open.

  6. 6 to the TE over the weak side LB.  Works every time.
